2016 Office Decor Trends

November 3, 2015

Just because you work in an office doesn't mean that you can't express your personality. As 2016 approaches, we're looking towards the newest design trends that sure to wow your coworkers and allow you to express your peresonality.

1. Bring the Outdoors In

In 2015 we saw a lot of plants like leafy palms and cacti take over our office spaces - and 2016 is no different. Our best advice to bring in the outdoors is by getting plants that require minimal care like cacti, air plants, and bamboo. All you need is sun and a little bit of water to keep these plants living!

2. Support Local Artisans

Artisans have seen a resergence in popularity thanks to e-commerce sites like Etsy and we're seeking a huge rise in their products. If you want to make your office extra cozy, look into buying a woven wall hanging or by crafting some clay mugs.

3. Minerals

2015 was all about bringing nature inside - and we're not just talking about plants. Minerals had a big moment in 2015 and they're not going anywhere soon. Grab a couple of great agate bookends to place in your office or a couple of coasters to set your favorite coffee mug on. These simple anb beautiful agate slices will brighten up your space!

4. Geometric Tiles

Tiles have undergone a huge makeover in the past year. We're moving away from busy granite tiles and into cleaner, minimalist styles. Although you can't redo your office floor into a beautiful geometric tile pattern, you can do simple DIY projects like a tile tray to keep all your personal objects on.

5. Mix Metals and Metallics

Mid-century design is a great way to decorate your office next year. Mid-century design is all about clean lines, soft colors, and adding a little splash of metals and metallics. Take a risk this year and snag a gold or copper lamp to brighten up your space and bring in some retro vibes.

6. Sustainablity

Overall we saw a huge push for buying sustainable products and next year will be no different. So next time you're at the store, pick up some recycled notebooks and pens to work with - but make sure to recycle!
